To produce the vanilla that you find in your pantry a dedicated farmer needs to tend to these tropical plants. These plants only flower once per year for six hours in the early hours of the morning, and need to be hand pollinated in order to produce the vanilla bean pods which we process to turn it into the pantry staple that you know and love. We are at the beginning of our journey to production and are establishing our vanilla orchard. We expect that we will see our first vanilla pods in 2027.

In their fourth year vanilla vines will start to flower. This requires delicate hand pollination to produce vanilla beans. These beans will stay on the vines for up to 9 months before they are ready to be hand picked during our harvest.

After they have been harvested the beans will be cured through a long and labour intensive process which requires the loving touch of human hands over many weeks to dry and cure in the sun to develop the distinct aroma of vanilla that you know and love.
